Vanessa Forgues, Clinical Sexologist & psychotherapist

As a clinical sexologist, I completed a bachelor in sexology and a Masters degree in clinical sexology at Université du Québec à Montréal. I offer services in English and French. I am a member of the « Ordre Professionnel des Sexologues du Québec ». I also have a psychotherapist permit from the Ordre des Psychologues du Québec. I received clinical training from the Montreal General Hospital, working for the Human Sexuality Program and the Gender Dysphoria Program in team with senior psychiatrist, sexologist and psychologist. I also worked in different fields such has institutional setting, non-profit organization and clinical settings with different clienteles.

Specializing in intimacy, sexual difficulties and relationship issues, I work with individuals who want to improve their sexual health through individual or couple counseling. I also have experience working with teenagers and in the eating disorder field. I can help you with a wide variety of difficulties such as self-esteem issues, concerns regarding body image, difficulties finding a partner or addiction to pornography. I also worked with people from the LGBTQIA+ community and ethnic minorities facing different challenges.

I am trained with the humanistic approach and the psychodynamic/sexoanalytic approach. I also use cognitive-behavioral theory and solution-focused brief therapy theory in order to help my clients achieve their goals. I believe that the individual is the expert of his/her own experience and I am willing to work in order to enhance their potential through counseling.
